Earlier Bedtime May Prevent Obesity

Many articles have discussed the  importance of sleep on many health issues, including weight gain and obesity. A new study published in The Journal of Pediatrics found that pre-school aged children had a lower risk for adolescent obesity when they had earlier bedtimes. In fact, they were half as like to become obese as adolescents. Sleep should not be underestimated, and while it can not be solely responsible for weight status, it is often neglected as a contributing factor. While we can’t change our genetic code, we can change our bed time! Go to sleep earlier and make sure your kids do too!
