Head Football Coach Blind Brook High School
Chris Halstead has been an educator and coach in Westchester County for over 20 years. He earned his BA in History from Iona College in 1995 and MS in Education in 2000. After playing football, briefly at Iona College, he started coaching at Stepinac High School in 1994.
His coaching career has been in a variety of places while focusing his expertise in football, basketball and softball. During this time he has been a part of two State Champions, six Sectional Champions and six League Champions. In addition, individual athletes have also achieved multiple achievements while being coached by Chris. Among them are several All-State, All-Section and All-League accolades. Chris prides himself on getting the average athlete/player to the next level and being a teacher of the game. ¨He believes that the field is an extension of the classroom and this has always been the pattern of his success.
Currently, he is the Head Football Coach at Blind Brook High School and he stresses the team concept while focusing on/off field training and player safety. Coach Halstead understands that what he is teaching to his athletes goes far beyond the X’s and O’s.
