Most Americans are not doing enough sleep. A study published in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that 1 in 3 Americans do not get enough sleep. Lack of sleep has a negative effect on weight and metabolism. Seven hours of sleep is recommended and there is an increased risk of obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke and frequent mental distress.
